Thanks for the update – yeah, I published this a long time ago and they have changed the URL structure. I know there are some better regular expressions out there, and I did write some functions in some production code I’ve done that shows these correctly – I just can’t seem to find them. Good catch!

Hey Jam,

You can actually use above code to request the offline_access permission. The one problem is Facebook will be depreciating offline_access early in May.

Its smart on their part that they are removing it, since lots of people are abusing it. Many times a app will get an offline access token and then sit on it for a while – then a year later they could use it.

So… your application for the next few days can use it, but after may you will have to re-direct people through the process to extend it.
